Teams Phone makes sense if your whole organisation already lives inside Microsoft 365 and you'd rather add a calling licence than run a separate tool. It's a genuinely deep product for meetings, and for IT teams already managing a Microsoft tenant, it's one less vendor to deal with.

Large-scale meetings, webinars, breakout rooms and live whiteboards are a genuinely deep part of Teams, at a scale we don't try to match. If your organisation is already standardised on Microsoft 365 - single sign-on, compliance policies, everything under one admin console - adding Teams Phone is one less vendor for IT to manage, not a new one to onboard.
